Nasal Polyps

Nasal polyps are benign growths in the nose or sinuses, which some people develop for reasons we still do not fully understand. Research suggests the cause may be a defect or alteration in the immune system of certain people. Polyps can be treated with pills, nasal sprays, steroid eluding stents, biologic treatment and in some cases surgery to physically remove the polyps from the nose and sinuses. Polyps can cause loss of smell, nasal obstruction and chronic sinusitis.
